Mr. Potter was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Charlie and Lester Perkins Potter. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenny Potter, and a brother, William Paul Potter. Mr. Potter had lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area for 40 years before returning to East Tennessee in 1988. He was a retired iron worker and a member of the Iron Workers Local 17 of Cleveland, Ohio. He had served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Elk River Baptist Church, Butler. Survivors include his wife, Louise Ward Potter; a son, Steve Potter, Seven Hills, Ohio; and a brother, the Rev. Fred Potter, Bristol. Three grandchildren also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. POTTER -- Funeral services for Frank Potter, 75, 317 Green Pond Road, Johnson City, who died Tuesday, January 1, 2002, will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Potter officiating. Music will be provided by the Minton Family. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 4, in the Glennwood Cemetery, Bristol. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Friday, will be Ricky Potter, Bobby Potter, Scott Whaley, Sam Maney, William Earhart, Kent Young, Bill Montgomery and Michael Huffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Montgomery, Lee Walsh, Wayne Winters, Thomas Heaton, Bert Walsh, Lester Reece and Hobert Stanley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at his residence.
