Giles Blackburn Propst, 75, of Bristol, Virginia and Roan Mountain, Tennessee,
died Friday afternoon in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville,
Va.  He was a native of Statesville, North Caroline and the son of the late
John W. Propst and Gilie Hendrix Propst.  he attended the Roan Mountain
Holiness Church and was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.  Mr.
Propst was a retired employee of the Farmers Home Administration.  After
retirement from the FHA, he developed real estate for residential purposes in
the Bristol area for many years.  He is survived by his wife, Margaret
Graybeal Propst of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Propst Wolfe of
Mentor, Ohio, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Lowe of Alberta, Virginia; two brothers,
Noel Propst of Boydton, Virginia and John Propst of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Two grandchildren also survive, Michael and Victoria Wolfe of Mentor, Ohio.
Tetrick Funeral Home Rhodedendron Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Funeral services for Giles Blackburn Propst, 75, of Bristol, Virginia and Roan
Mountain, Tennessee, who died Friday, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday
from the Roan Mountain Holiness Church with Rev. Don Julian officiating.
Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.  The family will receive
friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home and
other times at the residence.  The family requests that those who wish to make
donations in memory of Mr. Propst may make them to the Carter County Rescue
Squad or the Liberty Baptist Church in Skipwith, Virginia.  Tetrick Funeral
Home, Rhodedendron Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
