William F. Presnell

  William Frank "Shorty" Presnell, 87, 194 Old Buck Mountain Road, Roan 
Mountain, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Charles A. Cannon Memorial 
Hospital, Linville, N.C., following a sudden illness. 
  Mr. Presnell was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Abraham 
Lincoln and Dorothy Harrison Presnell. He was also preceded in death by 
three sisters and a brother. 
  Mr. Presnell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day 
Saints, Banner Elk, N.C. 
  Survivors include his wife, Emma Hamby Presnell, of the home; three sons, 
Lloyd Presnell, Elizabethton, Dale Presnell, Newland, N.C., and Harry 
Presnell, Roan Mountain; and seven daughters, Frankie Bushey, Phyllis 
Howell and Luster Meints, all of Greenwood, S.C., Taffey Jo Hoopes, Elk 
Grove, Calif., Brenda Robinson, Raleigh, N.C., Angela Voigt, Banner Elk, 
N.C., and Jean Johnson, Forest City, N.C. Nineteen grandchildren, 24 great-
grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and 
nephews also survive.

  PRESNELL -- Funeral services for William Frank "Shorty" Presnell, 87, 
194 Old Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, who died Friday, July 21, 2000, 
will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Tetrick Funeral Home, 
Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Branch President Allen Henson and 
Elder Kenneth Wilson officiating. Graveside services and interment will 
follow at Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family 
and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Folks and George Shomaker. 
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rhododendron 
Chapel, Roan Mountain. Friends may also call at the residence, 194 Old 
Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, any time. Tetrick Funeral Home, 
Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements.
