CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Larry Denton Presnell, 18 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Larry Denton Presnell, 73, North East St., Elizabethton, died unexpectedly Monday, October 18, 2004 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late George W. and Nannie Byrd Presnell. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Presnell had worked at Magnavox and retired from Snap-On Tools. He was well-loved by his brothers and sisters, and was also a very helpful neighbor and a dedicated husband and friend. In addition to his parents, Mr. Presnell was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Hurley Presnell; three nephews, Robert Richard Parlier, Jeffery Winters, Curtis Terry, and a special friend, Mamie Edens. Survivors include eight sisters and brothers-in-law, Loretta and Kenneth Rainbolt, June and Hansel Winters, Ruth and Archie Parlier, Violet and Jim Gibson, Norma and David Babb, Trena and Carl Gibson, all of Elizabethton; Patricia and Clay Montgomery, Roan Mountain; Diana and Ralph Marlowe, Erwin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George Dean and Sandra Presnell, Rex and Janie Presnell, all of Elizabethton, and special friend, Emma Jean Harmon, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Garland Cemetery with Wade Winters, nephew, officiating. Everyone will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the residences of the sisters and brothers at any time. Active pallbearers are Rex Presnell, Martin Montgomery, Clay Montgomery, Ken Rainbolt, Ralph Marlowe, David Babb, Hansel Winters, and Carl Gibson.
