CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Thomas "Tip" Puckett, 11 Sep 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Thomas Puckett Mr. Thomas "Tip" Puckett, 80, Field Road, Elizabethton, Tenn., died Thursday, September 11, 2003, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. A native of Cleveland, Va., he was the son of the late Thomas Calvin and Rachel Breeding Puckett. He was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Guy Puckett, Howard Puckett, Gilmer Puckett, Giles Puckett and Harlow Kiser. Survivors include three brothers, Clyde Puckett and Carson Puckett, both of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Clayton Puckett, Bluff City, Tenn.; one sister, Marie Malone, Watauga, Tenn., and three special nieces, Liz Puckett, Nancy Stout and Debbie Weaver, all of Elizabethton, Tenn. Funeral service for Mr. Thomas "Tip" Puckett will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, September 14, 2003, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Clate W. Briggs Jr. officiating. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2003, in the George Mottern Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Weaver, Daniel Stout, Doug Gibson, Billy Puckett, G. W. Puckett, Teddy Malone, Jeffrey Fields and Tommy Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Trey Robertson, Judy and Victor Deloach and all the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Sunday.
