Queen Mrs. Marie A. Queen, 307 Elm Street, Elizabethton, died Saturday, October 14, 2000, at Pine Ridge Care Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Queen was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late William G. and Lula Jane Forrester Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Queen, in 1990. Mrs. Queen was a retired employee of Beaunit Corporation in the Personnel Department. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include three brothers, Alphas Anderson and J.D. Anderson, both of Elizabethton, and A.H. Anderson, Bristol, and three sisters, Mrs. Ora Morrell, Elizabethton, Mrs. Lucy Smith, Clermont, Fla., and Mrs. Jean Potter, Lenoir, N.C. Two nieces and three nephews also survive. Queen, 307 Elm Street, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, October 14, 2000, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, October 15, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Music will be by Billy Anderson, organist. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 16, in the Crown Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, Scott Smith, Earl Ellis, Bill Anderson, Mark Potter, James Alexander, Earl Hardin and Jim Cagle. To those who desire, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Helen Wilson, 209 S. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643 or the Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 776, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37644. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.
