A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Earl D. and Ellen Bradshaw Renfro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loraine Renfro. Mr. Renfro was a self-employed painter and tree trimmer. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Borderview Christian Church. Mr. Renfro's hobbies were camping and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Lorene Rutherford Renfro; two daughters, Brenda Ann Jester and Rebecca Joyce White, both of Elizabethton; two sons, James David Renfro and Charles Keith Renfro, both of Elizabethton; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Richards, Bluff City, Romaine Watson and Mary Perry, both of Elizabethton; four brothers, Billy Jack Renfro and Dewey Renfro, both of Elizabethton, Kenneth W. Renfro, of West Virginia, and Robert Renfro, of Alabama; several nieces and nephews; and two special sisters-in- law, Katie and Emma Renfro. Funeral services for Mr. Renfro will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be provided by his niece, Cheryl Walker. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6, in the Emmert Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, will be Rick Braswell, Justin White, Corey Henson, Chris Henson, Steve Umbewuese, Steve McQueen and Roy Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff John Henson, George Papantoniou, Pete Ensor, Freddie Colbaugh, Aaron Glover, Clarence Sheets, David Crockett and Keith Younce. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
