Roberson Orville Lewis Roberson, 76, 161 Garrison Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Roberson was a native of Carter County and the son of the late James and Hester Honeycutt Roberson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Julian. Mr. Roberson was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nola Stockton Roberson; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Beverly Roberson, Dale and Penny Roberson and Bobby Roberson, and a daughter and son-in-law, Billie and John Merritt, all of Elizabethton; two brothers, Carl Roberson, Elizabethton, and Richard Roberson, Johnson City; a sister, Maggie Miller, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Amanda, Julia, Emily, Dustin and Aleshia; and two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Tara. Funeral services for Mr. Roberson will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, January 27, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Kenny Smith, Bobby Woods Jr., Rick Williams, Ken Dugger, Doyce Sheffield and Noah Ensor. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Honeycutt, Ronny Edwards, Roy Whitehead, Charlie Trivett, Gary Thomas, Raymond Whitehead, Ben Johnson and friends and family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service hour.
