Rains Mrs. Jennieve Renfro Rains, 91, Hwy. 91, Elizabethton, died Friday, May 3, 2002, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A Carter County native, she was a daughter of the late Wade and Bessie Hampton Renfro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rain, Nov. 2, 1981, by a sister Anna Renfro, and by two brothers, Earl and Latta Renfro. Mrs. Rains was a former Pink Lady at Carter County Memorial Hospital and Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a charter member of Unaka Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Aleene Peters, Louisville, Ky., two brothers, Hampton Renfro, Elizabethton, and Carl Renfro, Bellmore, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. RAINS -- Graveside service for Mrs. Jennieve Renfro Rains, 91, Hwy. 91, Elizabethton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in the Grindstaff Cemetery with the Rev. Walker Roberson officiating. Burial will follow the service. The Unaka Baptist Church Choir will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, will be Ryan Shoun, Mark McBane, Roscoe Peters, Harry Ford, Kirk Carrier, Mike McCloud And Tom McCloud. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and her church family. Also surviving is a special friend, Tom McCloud. Friends may call at the residence of a brother, Hampton Renfro, 1806 Hwy. 91, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Sunday. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
