CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - William Clarence Rasnick, Sr., 10 Jul 2003 ----¤¤¤---- William C. Rasnick William Clarence Rasnick, Sr., age 81, Reynolds Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Viola O'Quinn Rasnick. He was a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation where he worked in Unit I Spinning. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Rasnick, of the home; six sons, Thomas Wayne Rasnick, Rondal Rasnick, William Clarence "W.C." Rasnick, Jr., Bobby Rasnick, David Rasnick, John Turner, all of Elizabethton; two daughters, Elizabeth Miller, Elizabethton, and Alice Odom, Johnson City; one sister, Alice Largent, Elizabethton; two brothers, Earl Rasnick, Watauga, and Lawrence Rasnick, Elizabethton; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, and a special friend, Paul Budgen, Elizabethton, also survive. Jim Murray and Rev. Jackie Cole officiating. Music will be under the direction of Cathy Chambers. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Keith Turner, Jeff Miller, James Odom, Dean Odom, Jamie Lambert, Skipper Taylor, Rob Lambert, John Paul Scalf, and Paul Budgen. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildrennephews; Harry Woods, Delmas Taylor, employees of North American Rayon Corporation Unit I Spinning, Charles Long, Jim Nave, friends and neighbors, Conley Bullock, and Richard Duvall. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
