Betty B. Richardson

  Betty Berry Richardson, 78, formerly of 310 Berry Hill Road, Elizabethton, 
died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Hillview Health Center following a brief 
illness.
  Mrs. Richardson was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 
Alvin and Josie Bowers Berry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, 
Arthur W. Richardson; a grandson, Kerry Dwayne Richardson; a great-nephew, 
Roger Keith Buckles; and by three brothers and two sisters.
  Mrs. Richardson was a member of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church. 
She was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation.
  Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Judy Richardson, 
Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Dallas Lowe, Elizabethton; 
a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Keith and Stephanie Richardson, Knoxville; 
a step-grandson, Forrest Lowe, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; and 
special friends, Hubert Greene, Sheila Gibson, Doodle McNeil and Kitty Gibson, 
all of Elizabethton.

  RICHARDSON -- Funeral services for Betty Berry Richardson, 78, formerly of 
310 Berry Hill Road, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, will be 
conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 
with the Rev. Jonas Revis and the Rev. Stephen Harris officiating. Music will 
be under the direction of the Rev. Stephen Harris. Graveside services and 
interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Buckles Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers will be Gary Berry, Carl Buckles, Jimmy Blevins, Bufford 
Cole, Anthony Buckles, Richard Hardin, Harrison Bowers, Jerry Hyder, Jerry 
Cochran and Lloyd Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Watauga 
Valley Free Will Baptist Church, Ted Weaver and Jerry Weaver. Everyone will 
meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Friday for the graveside service. The 
family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
