James P. Richardson

James P. Richardson, 76, 340 Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, died 
Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center 
Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Richardson was a native of Carter County and the son of the late 
John and Annie Richardson.
Mr. Richardson was a retired mechanic and an avid artist. He was a U.S. 
Navy Veteran, having served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella Richardson, of the home; two sons, 
Jimmy Richardson, Chicago, Ill., and Christopher Scott Richardson, 
Johnson City; a daughter, Denise Richardson Jordon, Chicago, Ill.; a 
stepson, Beecher Hart, Roan Mountain; four grandsons; a special 
stepgranddaughter; two sisters, Shelby Jean Davis, Lenoir, N.C., and 
Dolly Mae Clark, Johnson City; and a brother, Robert Richardson, Erwin. 
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

RICHARDSON -- Graveside services and inurnment for James P. Richardson, 
76, 340 Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, who died Tuesday, September 3, 
2002, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, at Mountain 
Home National Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain 
Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Those who plan to attend the graveside 
service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Monday. Those 
who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the 
American Cancer Society, 209 South Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN
