Reece Rosa Dove Reece, 87, 106 Ray Whaley Road, Butler, died Tuesday, February 20, 2001, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Reece was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Nathan and Hancie Smith Whaley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Reece, December 8, 1992, a daughter, Novella Whaley, and by two sisters and a brother. Mrs. Reece was a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lester Reece, of the home, and Lloyd D. and Judith Reece, Butler; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcella and Fred Smith, Elizabethton; a half-sister, Jolene Estep, Elizabethton; two half-brothers, Rhonda McQueen and Lloyd Dean McQueen, both of Butler; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a special granddaughter, Cathy Jo Whaley, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 543-4917, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick REECE -- Funeral services for Rosa Dove Reece, 87, 106 Ray Whaley Road, Butler, who died Tuesday, February 20, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, February 22, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Nick Bradshaw and the Rev. Dale Greenwell officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Rev. Ronnie Campbell. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 23, at Butler Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons: Eddie Lewis, Mike Lewis, Shane Lewis, Kevin Reece, Danny Reece and Dale Reece. Honorary pallbearers will be Rosa Lee Campbell and Sandra Blevins. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Friday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
