CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Minnie Jane Woods Reece, 26 Feb 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Minnie Jane Woods Reece, 87, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, formerly of the Siam Community, died at Ivy Hall Nursing Home on Thursday, February 26, 2004. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Agnes Bowers Woods. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Reece was a member of the Siam Baptist Church where she was active in the nursery department for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Odis Reece, June 12, 1970, and by three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Lynn Treadway, Elizabethton; her granddaughter and her husband, Michelle and Andy Peiffer; a special great grandson, Justin Bowers; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews, including a special great nephew, Dwayne Fair. Several cousins also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2004 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Roddy and Rev. Cecil "Nick" Bradshaw officiating. The graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 in the National Cemetery, Mountain Home. Mr. Bill Anderson will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Monday, will be Andy Peiffer, Doug Fair, Dwayne Fair, Dwight Shaffer, Jess Mahone, Henry Allen, Wendell Treadway, Mike Smith, Andy Hood and Carl Estep. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and great nephews and Ivy Hall employees. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to Gail Lowe, Ivy Hall nurses and aides, the B Wing staff of Ivy Hall, 3rd floor nurses and aides of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, the 6200 hall of the Johnson City Medical Center, nurses, aides and doctors, and also her special friends at Ivy Hall, Angel and Lucinda. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Lynn Treadway, 199 Bowers Lane, Elizabethton.
