Mary H. Reed

Mrs. Mary Hodge Reed, 90, Sherwood Drive, Johnson City, formerly of 
Greendale Road, Pinecrest, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at Appalachian 
Christian Village.
Mrs. Reed was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late James 
Cisero and Elizabeth VanDyke Hodge. She was also preceded in death by her 
husband, Echol M. "Red" Reed Sr., a son, Shirley Joe Reed, and by a brother 
and two sisters.
Mrs. Reed was a member of Pinecrest Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Reed Davenport, Johnson City; three 
sons and daughters-in-law, Echol M. Jr. and Susan Reed, Fearrington Village, 
N.C., James G. and Betty Reed and Mark A. and Paula Reed, all of Johnson 
City; and seven grandchildren, Jason Reed and his wife Kate Underhill, 
Matthew Reed and partner Christopher Daniel, Tara Davenport Cooper and her 
husband David Wayne Cooper, Justin Reed, Jennifer Reed, Laura Reed and James 
E. Reed.
Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Reed will be conducted at 11 a.m. 
Friday, August 15, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Frederick Meredith 
and Mr. David Lovelace officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family 
and friends. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Reed 
to the donor's favorite charity. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery
