Riddle Mrs. Elva Jay Hart Riddle, 73, 503 Dogwood Lane, Watauga, died Monday, December 24, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Riddle was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late David Edgar and Ida Mottern Hart. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hart Head. Mrs. Riddle was a Charter Member of Range Community Christian Church and attended First Christian Church of Elizabethton. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, John Riddle, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Jay and Bradley Johnson, Watauga; two sons, John David Riddle, Gray, and Richard Michael Riddle, Johnson City; two sisters, Georgia Fair, Watauga, and Peggy Nikazy, Hendersonville; four grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law, Bradley Scott and Susan Johnson, Bluffton, S.C., Patrick Sean and Angela Johnson, Elizabethton, James David Riddle, Baton Rouge, La., and Christian Michael Riddle, Elizabethton; two granddaughters, Brandee Lynne Riddle, Elizabethton, and Sara Lin Johnson, Watauga; a great-grandson, McKinlay Scott Johnson, Bluffton, S.C.; and a great-granddaughter, Jayla Madison Wandell, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. These services entrusted to Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. www.Funeral- Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy RIDDLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Jay Hart Riddle, 73, 503 Dogwood Lane, Watauga, who died Monday, December 24, 2001, will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, December 27, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway- Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Donald Marshall, minister, officiating. Music will be by Patty Betts and Jo Ellen Pierson, soloists. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Danny Reed, Clinton Reed, Bradley Scott Johnson, Patrick Sean Johnson, James David Riddle, Chris Nikazy, Mark Estep, Tim Buck, Brandee Lynn Riddle and Sara Lin Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. William Kincaid. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Friends may also call at the residence, 503 Dogwood Lane, Watauga, at any time.
