CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Bertha Louise Roark, 14 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Bertha L. Roark Bertha Louise Roark, 85, Hampton Creek Road, Roan Mountain, died Thursday, November 14, 2003, at her residence following an extended illness. Ms. Roark was a lifelong resident of Carter County and the daughter of the late Lon B. and Floy C. Rash Roark. Ms. Roark was a member of Gray's Chapel Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include two brothers, Walter Roark and William E. Roark, both of Roan Mountain; two sisters, Emma Shell, Elizabethton, and Ethel Heaton, Farmington, Mich.; and special friends, Frank and Trish Presnell, Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, November 15, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with the Rev. Danny Cooke officiating. Music was under the direction of Charlotte Smith. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16, at Gibbs Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Sunday.
