Belle Roberts

   Belle Roberts, 89, 2919 Gap Creek Road, Hampton, died Tuesday, 
July 9, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.
   Mrs. Roberts was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the 
late Henry and Jane Hill Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her 
husband, Howard H. Roberts, a daughter, Callie Roberts, a daughter-in-law, 
Nancy Roberts, and by three brothers and two sisters.
   Mrs. Roberts was a member of Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church. 
She was a housewife.
   Survivors include a son, Donald L. Roberts, Hampton; a brother, Sam 
Johnson, of the home; a sister, Mary Morton, Elizabethton; two 
granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Debra and Perry Rambo and Donna and 
John Papantoniou, all of Elizabethton; two great-grandsons, Lonnie R. 
Harding Jr. and Nicholas Papantoniou, both of Elizabethton; and one 
great-great-granddaughter, Shelby Harding, Elizabethton. Several nieces 
and nephews also survive.
