CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ruth Milam Rouse, 27 Jul 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Ruth M. Rouse Ruth Milam Rouse, 94, formerly of Ruby Avenue, Elizabethton, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the home of a daughter, Helen Tester, 4001 Navaho Drive, Johnson City, following an extended illness. Mrs. Rouse was a native of Johnson County and had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was the daughter of the late T.A. and Mae Ray Milam and was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin P. Rouse, January 10, 1983, a son, Wade Rouse, two sisters, four brothers, two great-grandchildren and two sons-in-law. Mrs. Rouse was a member of Doe River Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Tester, Johnson City, and Jean Campbell, Elizabethton; a brother, Charles Milam, Johnson City; two sisters, Pauline McJunkin and Sue Campbell, both of Elizabethton; four grandchildren and spouses, Ruth and Rev. Harold McNabb, Unicoi, Gay and Denny Friday, Gray, Wade and Viki Campbell and Lynn Campbell, all of Elizabethton; 11 great-grandchildren, Lisa Jones, Unicoi, Renee McNeal, Elizabethton, Charles McNabb and Benjamin McNabb, both of Johnson City, Becky Friday and Jamey Friday, both of Gray, Suzanne Friday-Vannoy, Stephanie Shouse, Staci Peters and Kristi Zimmerman, all of Elizabethton, and Keri Perry of Germany; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visit our Web site at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com ROUSE -- The funeral service for Ruth Milam Rouse, 94, formerly of Ruby Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, July 27, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Harold McNabb and Rev. Willie Lunceford officiating. Music will be under the direction of Rev. Harold McNabb and Ruth McNabb. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service in the chapel. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Jean Campbell, 2425 Bob Little Road, Elizabethton, at any time. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Charles McNabb, Benjamin McNabb, Jamey Friday, Steve Jones, Jerry McNeal, Chad Vannoy, Tony Milam and Hobie Hyder. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Campbell, Lynn Campbell, Rev. Harold McNabb, Denny Friday, Fred Milam, David Forbes, Steve Milam, Roger Milam, Elmer Rouse, Dr. Robert Walter, Michael McJunkin, the men of Doe River Baptist Church, friends and neighbors. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
