CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Elbert C. Ritchie, 27 Jul 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Elbert C. Ritchie ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. -- Elbert C. Ritchie, 86, of Clermont, died Saturday, July 27, 2002. Mr. Ritchie was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., on December 18, 1915 to the late David Elbert Ritchie and Belle Murray Ritchie. He attended Elizabethton High School and graduated from Milligan College in 1953, after serving in the National Guard and the U.S. Navy in World War II in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Ritchie was an elementary school teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church of Clermont. He was a life member of the VFW Post #5277 and was past commander of the American Legion South Lake Post #55. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara F. Ritchie, Clermont; a son, Michael Ritchie, Zephyrhills; two daughters, Elberta L. Ritchie and Phyllis R. Smith, both of Wildwood; two brothers, Roscoe Ritchie, Kingsport, Tenn., and Sam Ritchie, Elizabethton; Tenn.; and two sisters, Kathleen R. Bowers and Emma Jean R. Roddy, both of Elizabethton, Tenn. Four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren also survive. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Kelly Memorial Funeral Home
