CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Josephine Ritchie, 13 Apr 2003 and Roscoe Ritchie, 17 Apr 2003 ----ددد---- Josephine and Roscoe Ritchie Josephine Ritchie, 94, of Kingsport, died early Sunday morning, April 13, 2003, at Lakebridge Health Care Center in Johnson City. Born in Jacksboro, Tenn., Mrs. Ritchie lived in Elizabethton a number of years before coming to Kingsport in 1945 and was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Blanche Copeland; and two brothers, Dr. A. E. Miller and H. K. Miller. H. Roscoe Ritchie, 93, also of Kingsport, died Thursday evening, April 17, 2003, at Lakebridge Health Care Center in Johnson City. Born in Carter County, Tennessee, he had resided in Kingsport since 1945. Mr. Ritchie was employed with First American Bank for 37 1/2 years before retiring in 1974. He was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church and past president of the Civitan Club of Kingsport. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Ralph, and Elbert Ritchie; and two sisters, Helen Kate Payne and Pauline Ritchie. Survivors include their daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra Ritchie Forth and Dr. David Forth, Orinda, Calif.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, H. Roscoe and Norma Ritchie, Jr., Dunkirk, N.Y., James Calvin Ritchie, Richardson, Texas, and Dr. Kim and Van Ritchie, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Josephine is also survived by one sister, Margaret Pollard, Colonial Heights Community of Kingsport. Roscoe is also survived by two sisters, Kathleen Bowers, and Emma Jean Roddy; and one brother, Sam Ritchie, all of Elizabethton. RITCHIE -- A memorial service for Josephine Ritchie, 94, Kingsport, who died Sunday, and her husband, Roscoe Ritchie, 93, also of Kingsport, who died Thursday, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jack Edwards and Caryl Griffin officiating. A family graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, and following the memorial service Tuesday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
