Reynolds Eugenia Marie Perry Reynolds, 81, 334 Reynolds Rd., Elizabethton, died Thursday, Sept. 20, at her residence. Born May 12, 1920, she graduated from Elizabethton High School with the class of 1939. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Williamson Perry and Evelyn Scott Perry, descendants of pioneer families of the area. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris L. Perry, in 1984, and a brother, Elwyn Scott Perry, in 1944. Mrs. Reynolds was a homemaker, but was employed in the 1940s as a local office secretary by the Agricultural Extension Service and Carter County Farm Bureau. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women and attended Borderview Christian Church, being a member of the Kum-Join-Us Class and Senior Golden Oldies. Mrs. Reynolds had been active in the Keenburg and Elizabethton High School PTA, receiving a life membership by the Keenburg organization in the Tennessee PTA. Mrs. Reynolds was active in membership and later as a leader in the first Girl Scout organization in Elizabethton. For several years, she was a volunteer for the Carter County Red Cross, receiving the Clara Barton Volunteer Award. She was an active member of the Keenburg Family Community Education Club and a member of the Carter County Library Board for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Julius Dugger Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was the organizing chairman and member of the Elizabethton/Carter County Friends of the Library. Survivors include her husband, Jack H. (Dick) Reynolds, and a son, Scott A. Reynolds, and a daughter-in-law, Dathia Sams Reynolds, Elizabethton, and several cousins. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. REYNOLDS -- Memorial services for Eugenia Marie Perry Reynolds, 81, 334 Reynolds Rd., Elizabethton, who died Thursday, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dave Wolfe and the Rev. Buford Hankins officiating. Interment will be in Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Friends who wish to honor the memory of Mrs. Reynolds are asked to make a donation to the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library, designated to the large print book budget, or the Sight & Sound Fund of Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Hwy., Elizabethton, TN 37643. It was her wish to be cremated. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
