Sansom Thelma Ruby Kress Sansom, 74, 112 Robin Lane, Elizabethton, died Friday April 20, 2007, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Clara Ensor Kress. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Sansom was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. She was active in the Shriners. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Sansom; two sisters, Shirley Kress and Pauline Kress; and a brother, Clifford Kress. Survivors include her husband, Denton C. Sansom; two daughters, Kimberly Sansom, Nashville, and Lori Sansom, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Beverly Sansom, Elizabethton; three sisters, Juanita Graham, Jeweleen Ingram and Lela (Tootie) Stout, all of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Holly Sansom, Travis Sansom and his wife Jennifer, Amy Sansom and Jason Sansom; a great-granddaughter, Jayden Saylor; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Kress Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Jimmy Graham, Douglas Graham, Malcolm Kress, Joel Kress, Jason Sansom and Robert Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Simmons, John Mark Estep, Pete Scheuren, Scott Simmons, Ronnie Sansom, Dwayne Freeman, Harry Sansom, Bernard Freeman, Donald Ray Sansom, Greg Hinkle, Richard Schneider, Pat Schneider, Don Schneider and Jeff Hinkle. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
