Seaton Mamie Dugger Seaton, 91, Hermitage Health Care Center, Elizabethton, went to be at rest with her Lord on Sunday, June 24, 2007, following a lengthy illness. Mamie was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late E.F. and Maude Murray Dugger. She was a 1941 graduate of George Ben Johnson School of Nursing and Baylor University in 1943. She worked as a registered nurse at Holston Valley Hospital of Kingsport for a number of years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. T.B. Yancey of Kingsport in 1946; her second husband, Roy Seaton of Chattanooga on July 4, 1994; a brother, John M. Dugger, and a sister, Viola Phillips, both of Elizabethton. Survivors include two brothers, Carmon E. Dugger of Elizabethton and Ray Dugger of Bluff City, and three sisters, Nelle Thomason, Erma Dykes and June Owens, all of Elizabethton. A number of step-grandchildren, one of whom was special, Thomas Yancey III of Greeneville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to "Auntie Mame," also survive. Funeral services for Mamie Dugger Seaton will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with her nephew, Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of her nephew, Charles Dugger. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be nephews, Mack Dykes, Carmon Dugger Jr., Curtis P. Dugger, Charles Dugger, Lance Dykes, Curtis J. Dugger, David Meredith and Terry Meredith. Friends may call at the home of her sister, Erma Dykes, 753 Dugger Road, Elizabethton.
