Senter Marie M. Senter, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of the Siam Community, she was a daughter of the late George Isaac and Elizabeth Bowers Morrell. Mrs. Senter was a homemaker who was dedicated to her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the King's Daughters Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carroll Hathaway, an infant son, Joseph Lee Senter, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Paul B. Senter; a daughter, Paula Bowers, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Joan Hathaway of Old Fort, N.C.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Sandra Morris and her husband Mike of Marion, N.C., Bill Hathaway and his wife Sharon of Clemons, N.C., Lori Davis and her husband Jeff of Charlotte, N.C., John Hathaway and his wife Sharon of Nebo, N.C., and Patricia Cain and her husband David of Elizabethton; six great-grandchildren, Curtis Treadway, Jamie Morris, Michael Morris, Billy Hathaway, Sage Hathaway and Olivia Hathaway; two great-great- grandchildren, Isaac and Jaden Morris; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Betty Taylor. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Senter will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lauri Jo Cranford officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Mr. John Brookshire. Interment will follow in the Nave Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family members. A special honorary pallbearer will be Curtis Treadway. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Senter to the First United Methodist Church, 325 East E Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
