Shoun Corine B. Shoun, 74, of Elizabethton, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Bertie Richardson Estep. Mrs. Shoun was a former employee of East Tennessee Undergarment. She was a member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Shoun was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Shoun, May 1, 1979, a daughter, Tammy Lynn Shoun, November 18, 1972, a brother, Charles Estep, and a sister, Mamie Estep. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy and Cathy Shoun and Joey Shoun, all of Elizabethton; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Wayne Campbell, Elizabethton; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Henry Paul and Brenda Estep, Shelby, N.C., Vivian Estep, Newton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Brittany, Jessica, Blake, Lucas and Olivia; and a great-grandson, Mason. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Shoun will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brett Jones and the Rev. D.C. Byrd officiating. Music will be provided by Peggy Oliver. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, in the Shoun Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Birchfield officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, will be Wayne Campbell, Joe Eggers, Jimmy Johnson, Bobby Hardin, Dallas Carrier, Brian Estep, Kenvin Richardson, Ernest Davis, Joe Carrier and Eugene Carrier. Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas and Blake Tanner and her church family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
