Bernice C. Street 





    Bernice "Ailene" Clark Street, 77, 910 Fairview Road, Hampton, died 

Saturday, May 6, 2006, in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of 

Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Aaron B. and Ethel Cochran Clark. 

She was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corp. She was of the Baptist 

faith. Mrs. Street was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Street, and two 

sisters, Betty Jean Byrd and Mary Clark. 





    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Tammy Street, Hampton; 

a granddaughter, Stephanie Pierson; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and John 

L. McKinney, Hampton; a brother, Gerald Clark, Elizabethton; a number of nieces 

and nephews; one uncle, Lonnie Clark, Johnson City; and one aunt, Mary Nell 

Hill of North Carolina. 





    Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral 

Chapel, with the Rev. Elgin L.D. Berry officiating. Graveside service and 

interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Berry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be 

selected from friends attending the graveside service. The family will receive 

friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Family and friends will 

assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
