Salyer 3/17/00 Dottie A. Salyer, 84, 2416 Huffine Circle, Johnson City, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Salyer was a native of Carter County and had lived in Johnson City since 1963. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mattie Nave Arwood and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Kent Salyer, in 1965, a brother, Arden Arwood, a sister, Avalee Moss, a half-sister, Larna Hilton, and a grandson, David Kent Salyer. Mrs. Salyer was the retired co-owner of the Dutch Main Drive In Restaurants in Johnson City and Elizabethton. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Elizabethton and a member of the Nolichuckey-Grandview Chapter #194, Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Claudette Salyer, Johnson City, and several nieces and nephews. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282- 1521, is in charge of arrangements. SALYER -- Graveside services for Dottie A. Salyer, 84, 2416 Huffine Circle, Johnson City, who died Thursday, March 16, 2000, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton with Rev. R. Willard Warfield officiating. The family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to Johnson City Medical Center Hospice, 1807 W. Market Street, Johnson City, Tenn. 37604, or Meals on Wheels, 1521 Persimmon Ridge Road, Jonesborough, Tenn. 37659. Friends may call at their convenience at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Claudette Salyer, 1 Hastings Court, Johnson City.
