CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mary Evelyn Cornett Sanders, 15 Dec 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mary Evelyn Cornett Sanders, 79, Red Fern Drive, Limestone, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Sanders was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late George Russell and Vada Joines Cornett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ernest Sanders, October 6, 1995. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Sanders White, Limestone; a son and daughter-in-law, Freddie Ernest Sanders Jr. and Linda Sanders, Telford; a grandson, Clifford Russell Sanders, who made his home with her; two granddaughters, Donna Anderson Crisco of North Carolina, and Tammy Sanders Stoots, Johnson City; a great-grandson, Michael Curtis Sanders, Limestone, and several other great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Morelock and Irene Nave, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, December 17, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Erwin Gosnell officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 18, at Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Active pallbearers will be Cliff Sanders, Michael Sanders, Wayne Deloach, Charles Morton, Cecil Morton and Leonard Morton. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Saturday. Those who prefer in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Mrs. Sanders to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Suite 356, Johnson City, TN 37601.
