Scalf Elmer B. Scalf, 73, 148 Old Stoney Creek Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 13, 2000, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital, Mountain Home, following an extended illness. Mr. Scalf was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Lloyd and Maude Shaw Scalf. Mr. Scalf was of the Baptist Faith. He was a former employee of Bemberg Corporation, North American Rayon Corporation, Tri-State Container, and American Water Heater. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166 and the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Martha K. Greenwell Scalf. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 543-4917, www.Funeral- Plans.com/Tetrick, is in charge of arrangements. SCALF -- Funeral services for Elmer B. Scalf, 73, 148 Old Stoney Creek Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, November 13, 2000, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 16, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby Stout and the Rev. Buddy Street officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 17, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Troy Mann, Marty Hill, Chad Tipton and Rev. Bud Street. Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors and nursing staff of VA Medical Center Hospital, Mountain Home. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
