Scott 03/10/99 Irene Feathers Scott, 88, 488 Lane Hollow Road, Watauga, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Scott was a native of Watauga and had lived most of her life there. She was a daughter of the late John C. and Sadie O'Brien Feathers and was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Scott, in 1987, two sons, Carl Scott Jr. and Jerry Lee Scott, and by nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Scott was a homemaker and a member of the Lick Creek Christian Church. Survivors include six sons, Bob Scott, Louis Scott and Gene Scott, all of Watauga, Herman Scott, Littlestown, Pa., Wallace "W.D." Scott and Ray Scott, both of Piney Flats; two daughters, Patsy Bupp, Gainesville, Fla., and Brenda Scott, of the home; three brothers, Paul Feathers, Johnson City, Arron Feathers, Little Rock, Ark., and Owen Feathers, Piney Flats; and two sisters, Hattie Baker, Johnson City, and Juanita Wight, Seattle, Wash. Twenty-seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements. SCOTT -- Funeral services for Irene Feathers Scott, 88, 488 Lane Hollow Road, Watauga, who died Tuesday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Morris-Baker South Chapel with Mr. Tony Duncan and Mr. Rocky Maines officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery, Watauga. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
