Miss Sharp was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late James K. Sharp Jr. and Lena Morrell Sharp. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Leota Sharp Hammett and Mabel Langridge, and a brother, Charles W. Sharp. Miss Sharp had lived a number of years in Washington County. She was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church. Survivors include three brothers and two sisters-in-law, George B. Sharp and Jim and Becky Sharp, all of Elizabethton, and Karl and Sue Sharp, Johnson City; a brother-in-law, Howard Langridge, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Betty Lacy, Elizabethton. Memorial Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. SHARP -- Graveside services and interment for Miss Maude Sharp, 90, 121 Christian Church Road, Gray, who died Friday, April 27, 2001, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, in the Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Active pallbearers were Randy Lacy, David Lacy, Thornton Lacy, Lewis Markham, Jerry Hyder and Kelly Sharp. Honorary pallbearers were Nile Bowman, John A. Hawkins, Fred Harwood, Paul Onks, Judy and Victor Deloach and the Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Memorial Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
