CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mary Will Franklin Sheffey, 29 Nov 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mary Will Franklin Sheffey, 94, of Farragut, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 29, 2004 at NHC Health Care in Farragut. Mary Will was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton where she was very active in the United Methodist Women's Organization. Besides her dedication to her church, she was a member of the John Carter Chapter of the DAR. Preceding her in death were her husband, Rodney Sheffey; parents, John Harrison and Hassie Curry Franklin; brothers, Harry and Powell Franklin; sisters, Florence Alderson and Margaret Anderson. Leaving behind to mourn her passing are her sons, Col. John F. Sheffey (USA, Ret.) and wife, Peggy, of Camden, Ala.; David Sheffey and wife, Rosey, of Farragut; grandchildren, John M. Sheffey and wife, Angela, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; Daniel Sheffey and wife Crystal of Maryville; Dr. Elizabeth B. Sheffey of Birmingham, Ala.; Allison M. Sheffey of Farragut; great-grandchildren, Heather and Hannah Sheffey of Tullahoma; brother, Kenneth Rawlings, Jr. of Sevierville; sisters, Hassie Nell Bruce of Hopkinsville, Ky. and Helen Baker of Morristown. Besides the immediate family, Mary Will will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In accordance with her wishes, she has chosen to be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Antioch Church Cemetery Fund of Marvin, Tenn. or the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. You may share your thoughts and memories on our website.
