Shell 05/04/99 Glenn W. Shell, 62, 136 William Brewer Road, Roan Mountain, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, N.C. Mr. Shell was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Arthur and Hattie Winters Shell. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Hall Shell, and a sister, Hazel Davis. Mr. Shell was a drill operator for Eggers Construction Company, Banner Elk, N.C. Survivors include his wife, Jean Hill Shell, of the home; two daughters, Angela Haun, Newland, N.C., and Glenda Dawn Shell Barrier, Roan Mountain; a son, Jeffery Shell, Piney Flats; four grandchildren, Clinton Williams and Amanda Haun, both of Newland, N.C., Jeffery and Jonathan Shell, both of Piney Flats; and six sisters, Edith Matherly, Pulaski, Va., Anna Lee Shell, Johnson City, Kathleen Anderson, Martha Alvis and Iris Ludwig, all of Richmond, Va., and Margene Miller, Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. SHELL -- Entombment and committal services for Glenn W. Shell, 62, 136 William Brewer Road, Roan Mountain, who died Sunday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Lusk officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Audie G. Barrier, Clinton Williams and Scottie Miller. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday for the committal service. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
