Hazel G. Shell

   Mrs. Hazel G. Shell, 87, 202 Main Street, Roan Mountain, died Sunday, 
February 28, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
   Mrs. Shell was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late 
William J. and Ida Calhoun Goodson. She was also preceded in death by her 
husband, Walter '"'Bud'"' Shell, in 1969, and by four sisters and two 
brothers.
   Mrs. Shell was a member of the Roan Mountain United Methodist Church.
   Survivors include several nephews and nieces including Debra F. Killen 
of Jonesborough.
   Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

   SHELL -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel G. Shell, 87, 202 Main Street, 
Roan Mountain, who died Sunday, were conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial 
Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vicki Neese officiating. Graveside services and 
interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. 
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family received 
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial Funeral 
Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
