Miss Shell was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late John Lemuel and Polly Birchfield Shell. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Miss Shell was a member of Cherokee Church of Christ. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jack (Fatha) Crumley, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews and her many friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Monday, prior to the graveside service.
