Shell Mrs. Pauline Yates Shell, 83, 122 Hartley Rd., Elizabethton, died on Dec. 1, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Shell was a native of Cranberry, N.C., and had lived in Elizabethton since 1927. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Susan Harmon Holsclaw. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Yates , in 1961, and by one brother, Charlie B. Holsclaw. She was the owner of Yates Remnant Shop for 39 years. Mrs. Shell was a member of East River Park Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, W. Ross Shell, of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya Kay and Don Woods, Elizabethton, Rebekah and James Hunt, Lexington, Va., one step-son, Jerry Shel, Bristol, Tenn., one step-daughter, Carol Shell, Elizabethton, Tenn., four brothers, Claude Holsclaw, Arthur Holsclaw, Willie Holsclaw and John Holsclaw, all of Elizabethton, six sisters, Ola Campbell and Martha Forbes, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Maxine Gagliano, Juanita Pansock, Betty Maupin and Barbara Milsaps, all of Elizabethton, two grandchildren, Andy Woods, Noblesville, Ind., and Paula Flack, St. Cloud, Fla., one step-granddaughter, Michelle Hershey, Elizabethton, one adopted grandson, Brian Ceraolo, Lexington, Va., two great-grandchildren, Logan Woods, Key West, Fla., and Alyssa Woods, St. Cloud, Fla., one step-great-granddaughter, Savannah Hershey, Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy SHELL -- Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Yates Shell, 83, 122 Hartley Rd., Elizabethton, who went to be with her Lord Dec. 1, 2001, will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, with Messers Joel Stauffer and John Smith, ministers, officiating. A service of entombment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Kelly Yates, David Yates, Greg Yates, Tim Yates, Norman "Cotton" Hodge, and Thack Souvannakhily. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East River Park Christian Church, 1207 Broad Street Ext., Elizabethton, TN 37643, the Church of Christ, 137 E. C St., Elizabethton, TN 37643, and the Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 776, Elizabethton, TN 37644. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, prior to the service. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
