Mr. Shell was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Ed and Belva Miller Shell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Perkins Shell, in 1979, and by six brothers and a sister. Mr. Shell was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 35 years of service in the Spinning Department. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and R.L. Jones, Roan Mountain; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Melissa and Randal Odom, Roan Mountain; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Gerald and Dennise Jones, Roan Mountain; a great-grandson, Brandon Odom, Roan Mountain; four sisters, Mary Lou Hoss, Elaine Shell and Ruby Shell, all of Roan Mountain, and Melissa "Tottie" Hopson, Elizabethton; a brother, Odell Shell, Roan Mountain; and two special friends, Harvey and Lois Buck, Roan Mountain. Visit our Web site at www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick SHELL -- Funeral services for McAdoo "Mack" Shell, 83, formerly of 533 Teaberry Road, Roan Mountain, who died Monday, February 18, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with the Rev. Ron Fender, the Rev. Richard Stout and the Rev. Laney Berry officiating. Music will be under the direction of The Melody Trio. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, at Perkins Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Harvey Buck, Jug Church, Forrester Boone, Willie Shell, Larry Shell and Tom Laws. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelton Dugger, Ted Bowers, J.C. Richardson and Victor Deloach. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel.
