CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Anna Mae Shell, 24 Oct 2002 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Anna M. Shell Miss Anna Mae Shell, 384 Garland Branch Road, Watauga, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Miss Shell was a lifelong Watauga resident and a daughter of the late Joseph Fletcher Shell and Verna Kurd Shell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dana Shell; and four sisters, Mary Ellen Jones, Hazel Smith, Bonnie Shell and Joann Shell. Miss Shell retired from Woolworth's Department Store. She Shell was a member of Lick Creek Christian Church and the church's Ladies Circle. Survivors include a sister, Betty Livingston Grindstaff, Watauga; 10 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and great-nephews, including a special great-niece, Amy Lyman, Little Rock, Ark.; and nine great-great- nieces and great-great-nephews, including Norris Lyman, Little Rock. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, 423-282- 1521, is in charge of the arrangements. SHELL -- Funeral services for Anna Mae Shell, 384 Garland Branch Road, Watauga, who died Thursday, were conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mr. Rocky Maines and Mr. Joe Veeder officiated. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ann Little Cemetery, Watauga. Those attending are invited to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her nephews, Mike Lane, Terry Lane, Randy Livingston, Marty Livingston, Dana Smith and Joe Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-nephews, Brad Thompson, Travis Thompson, Russell Thompson, Hardy Lane, Franklin Lane, Nathan Lane, Jacob Smith, Fletcher Smith, Wesley Persinger, Jesse Lane, Andrew Lane and Zachary Livingston. For those who prefer, the family suggests memorials to Ann Little Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Betty Grindstaff, 906 Morningside Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604.
