Florence A. Shouse

   Mrs. Florence Anna Shouse, 83, 261 Reynolds Road, Elizabethton, died 
Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief 
illness.
   Mrs. Shouse was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of 
the late Robert R. and Nannie E. Slagle Bullock. She was also preceded in 
death by her husband, Fred L. Shouse Sr., in 1980, and a daughter, Beverly 
Mae Shouse, in 1949.
   Mrs. Shouse was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons 
and the Senior Citizens. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and 
taught Sunday School for many years.
   Survivors include a son, Fred Shouse Jr., Elizabethton; a daughter, 
Marilyn Agnes Grindstaff, Elizabethton; two brothers, Walter Bullock, 
Elizabethton, and Worley Bullock, Kingsport; four grandchildren, Nikki 
Foster, Angie Bunten, Andy Owens and Amanda Owens; and three great-
grandchildren, Natasha Bunten, Brooke Bunten and T.J. "Peter John" Bunten. 
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

   SHOUSE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Anna Shouse, 83, 261 
Reynolds Road, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, March 23, 2000, will be 
held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset 
Chapel, with Rev. James Lindsay and Rev. John Perkins officiating. Music 
will be by Mary Lou O'Quinn, pianist, and Jerry L. Barnett, soloist. 
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 
25, at Slagle Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Witt officiating. Everyone will 
meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday for the graveside service. The 
family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, 
prior to the service. To those who desire, memorials may be made to the 
Library Fund, Immanuel Baptist Church, 205 Hunter Avenue, Elizabethton, Tenn.
