Shepherd 07/26/99 Mrs. Hazel Perry Shepherd, 97, 604 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, died Thursday, July 22, 1999, in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Shepherd was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Nat T. and Mary Jackson Perry. Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Shepherd in 1951, by one son and daughter-in-law, R obert P. and Juanita "Fran" Shepherd, and by one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Shepherd retired from the Carter County Memorial Hospital as a supervisor in housekeeping. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: William T. and Claudelle Shepherd, Jackson, Miss.; and Frank and Mary Shepherd, Elizabethton; one sister, Donna Netherland, Elizabethton; one brother, James Perry, Elizabethton; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Perry Shepherd, 97, 604 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 1999, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Dr. John Martin and Pastor Joel Stauffer officiating. Music will be by Dr. William Shepherd and family. Graveside service and interment will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in Monte Vista Burial Park, Johnson City. Active pallbearers will be Bill Shepherd, Billy Frances, Johnny Hayes, Martin Meredith, Phil Isaacs, J.W. Turner, Wes Frazier and Michael Biskopsio. Everyone will meet at the Monte Vista Burial Park at 8:55 a.m. Monday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence any time. Hathaway- Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
