Shultz 12/22/99 Ernest T. Shultz, 80, 313 East "D" Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, December 21, 1999, at his residence following a sudden illness. Mr. Shultz was a lifetime resident of Carter County and a son of the late Harry C. and Annie McCloud Shultz. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, William, Earl, Paul and Tommy Shultz. Mr. Shultz was a retired employee of American Bemberg Corporation and a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member and usher of First Baptist Church and a member of the Four Square Sunday School Class. He was a member of the American Legion Watauga Post #49. Survivors include a sister, Mary S. Chambers, Elizabethton; three sisters- in-law, Dorothy Shultz, Lenoir City., Tenn., Mary Lloyd Shultz and Dean Shultz, both of Elizabethton; a niece, Rachael Ann Shultz, Manassas, Va.; and a nephew, Billy Shultz, Lenoir City, Tenn. Shultz, 80, 313 East "D" Street, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Hathaway- Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Music will be by John Bunn, pianist. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Masonic Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be John L. Bowers Jr., Reece Cole, Jimmy Smith, Bill Grindstaff, John Wiggins, William Shultz, Billy Shultz and Bruce Noles. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Four Square Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, members of the American Legion Watauga Post #49, friends and neighbors. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday to go the cemetery. To those who desire, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Vision 2000, 212 East "F" Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
