Tina P. Simerly

   Tina Pierce Simerly, 91, died Saturday, November 18, 2000, at 
Memorial Hospital in Adel, Ga., after a lengthy illness.
   Mrs. Simerly was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the 
late Arthur and Mattie Pierce. She was also preceded in death by her 
husband, Virgil P. Simerly, a son., Parks Virgil Simerly, and a brother, 
Harry Pierce.
   Mrs. Simerly had lived in Bluff City where she was a homemaker and a 
member of First Baptist Church.
   Survivors include three sons and four daughters-in-law, Jerry M. and 
Alice Marie Simerly, Blountville, Retired Lt. Col. USMC Calvin F. and 
Martha Jane Simerly, Pensacola, Fla., Gussie Leon and Valda A. Simerly, 
Knoxville, and Dorothy A. Kohler, Smyrna, Ga.; three daughters and 
sons-in-law, Dr. James E. and Thelma Sellers, Adel, Ga., Roger and 
Martha Hoffman, Wilmington, N.C., and Jimmy and Juanita Meeks, 
Wellington, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-
great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Helen Pierce and Ruby Potter; 
and a brother-in-law, Robert Simerly. Several nieces and nephews also 
survive.
   The Akard Funeral Home, 1912 W. State Street, Bristol, (423) 989-4800, 
is serving the family of Mrs. Simerly.
   
   SIMERLY -- Funeral services for Tina Pierce Simerly, 91, who departed 
this life Saturday, November 18, 2000, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, 
November 22, in the chapel of Akard Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin 
Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. 
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Those desiring may make memorials 
to their favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 7 to 
9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the
