Sandstrom 03/19/99 Mrs. Blanche Marsh Sandstrom, 79, 106 West H. Street, Elizabethton, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at her residence following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Sandstrom was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Matson H. and Zeuleaka Bradley Marsh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Swede" Sandstrom, August 5, 1973. Mrs. Sandstrom was a 50+ year member of the Sycamore Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #163 and a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gaye and Bob McCullough, 222 West F. Street, Elizabethton; a sister, Edna Carrington, Kingston; two nephews, Sam Carrington Jr., Marietta, Ga., and David Carrington, Oak Ridge; and a niece, Marsha Smith, Birmingham, Ala. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. SANDSTROM -- Graveside services for Mrs. Blanche Marsh Sandstrom, 79, 106 West H. Street, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Bob Mader officiating. Interment will follow the services. Active pallbearers will be Danny Wilkins, Al Broome, Paul Souder, Gene Harper, Jim Austin, Richard Campbell, Mack Hambrick, David Carrington, Sam Carrington Jr. and Robert Atwell Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be John Fetzer, Richard Ornduff, Jim Doggett, Dr. David Fenner and L.C. Moss. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gaye McCullough, 222 West F. Street, Elizabethton, any time. The family, friends, minister and pallbearers will leave from the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who wish to omit flowers may make donations in memory of Mrs. Sandstrom to the Shepard's Inn of Elizabethton or the American Heart Association. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
