CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Doris M. Street Stocton, 7 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Doris M.S. Stocton Mrs. Doris M. Street Stocton, 82, Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, died Friday, March 7, 2003, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Stocton was a Carter County native and a daughter of the late Bill and Betty Forbes Street. Mrs. Stocton was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Paul Stocton, who died in March 2002; by one sister, Vista "Pete" Warren; two brothers, John L. Street and Harold Dean Street; one grandson, Robert Stocton; and a son-in-law, Max Shook. Mrs. Stocton was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Elizabeth Stocton, Concord, N.C., and Eddie and Terry Stocton, Johnson City; two daughters and one son-in-law, JoAnn and Ben McKinney, Elizabethton, and Betty Shook, Hickory, N.C.; one brother, Richard Street, Gray; five grandchildren, Cindy Cline, Melissa Davis, Jeff Stocton, Chris McKinney and Shane Stocton; four great-grandchildren, Stacy Stocton, Jessica Cline, Shelby Stocton and Grayson Stocton; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. STOCTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Doris M. Street Stocton, 82, Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, who went to be with her Lord, March 7, 2003, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Howard Messer and Mark Street officiating. Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley emorial Park. Jeff Stocton and Melissa Davis will provide the music. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family and the staff and residents of the Center on Aging and Health, Erwin, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
