Mr. Stout was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Madison and Elsie Greer Stout. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Stout and Jake Stout, and a sister, Dorothy Freeman. Mr. Stout was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. He was a former employee of East Tennessee Chair Company and a construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Arline Stout, of the home; seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Tommy and Connie Stout, Elk Park, N.C., Leslie and Vickie Stout, Granite Falls, N.C., Jerry and Pam Stout, Daniel and Susie Stout, Frank Stout, Robert and Lillie Stout, all of Roan Mountain, and Dean Stout and his friend, Elsie Bare, Hampton; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Stout, Elizabethton; and two sisters, Sarah White, Newport News, Va., and Hazel Harrison, Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, (423) 542-2232, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick STOUT -- Funeral services for Russell Stout, 72, formerly of 128 Moreland Gap Road, Roan Mountain, who died Tuesday, October 31, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, November 2, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Storie officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Melody Trio and Jolene Stout. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, at Markland Hill Cemetery in the Buck Mountain Community. Active pallbearers will be Charlie Stout, Howard Clawson, Ronnie Potter, Jerry Jones, Tommy Hicks, Junior Chambers, Wade Hampton and Alvin Clawson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Patrick Craft, Dr. David Kimmel, Dr. Alfred Earwood, the Staff of Cannon Memorial Hospital, the Staff of Roan Highlands Nursing Center, and his many friends. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Friday for the graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rhododendron Chapel, and at the residence, 128 Moreland Gap Road, Roan Mountain, any time.
