CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Rev. Earl G. Stout, 25 Dec 1962 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Wednesday December 26, 1962 Elizabethton Star The Rev. Earl G. Stout, 64, of 829 West Main Street, Johnson City, died Tuesday at 5:30 am of a heart attack. He was a retired minister of the Baptist Church and a former resident of Hampton. He served in WWII. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Stout; one son, John C. Stout, Johnson City, four grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Julia Potter; three brothers, Owen, George, and Gilbert of Hampton. Dillow-Taylor is in charge. Funeral services for Earl G. Stout will be at 2 pm Thursday at First Baptist, Elizabethton. The Rev. Wilford M. Lee will officiate. Active pall bearers: Tom Akers, Clifford Shoemaker, Wade Peters, Tom Stout, Bobbie Cratten, and Jay Bass. Flower bearers will be friends and neighbors. The body will remain in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday, and will be taken to the church one hour before service to lie in state. Burial will be in the Morton Cemetery. Dillow-Taylor Jonesboro in charge. (Earl G. Stout was the son of John L. Stout c1865-? and Evaline Peters 1861- 1933.
