CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Harlan Nat Stout, 28 Jan 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Harlan N. Stout Harlan Nat Stout, 80, Race Street, No. 6, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at Hillview Health Center following a brief illness. Mr. Stout was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Nat and Lena Lewis Stout. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Stout was a retired employee of Daimler Chrysler in Fenton, Mo. He moved back to Elizabethton in May 1999, and for the past five years had made his home with a niece, Mrs. Peggy Davis, 610 Race Street, No. 6. He was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the American Legion in Potosi, Mo. Mr. Stout was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Juanita Stout; a brother, John Stout; and three sisters, Vada Street, Virgie Smith and Lonnie Harvey. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Davis, include two sisters, Pauline Nidiffer, Elizabethton, and Ruth Davis, Panama City, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Greg and Tara Moreland of Elizabethton, Mike and Lois Davis of Unicoi, Ron and Becky Davis of Hartsville, Marcella Nidiffer of Elizabethton, Larry and Angie Wade of Panama City, Fla., Roger Davis of Panama City, Fla., and Bill and Doris Cook of Gatlinburg; a sister-in-law, Freida Stout of Elizabethton; and a brother-in-law, Orville Harvey of Elizabethton. Graveside services for Mr. Stout will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 30, at the V.A. Cemetery at Mountain Home. Eulogies will be given. Friends may call at the funeral home or at the home at 610 Race Street, Condo No. 6, Elizabethton, at any time. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the V.A.
