CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - George Daniel Stout, Sr., 18 Mar 2004 ----¤¤¤---- George D. Stout, Sr. George Daniel Stout, Sr., 79, Hillside Drive, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 18, 2004, at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James Madison and Elsie Greer Stout. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 40 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49. Mr. Stout was a member of the East Side Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Braswell Stout, May 18, 1969; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Margaret Jeanette Oliver Stout; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joan Stout Ramsey, Elizabethton, and Judy and the Rev. Allen Simerly, Hampton; two sons and daughters-in-law: George Daniel Stout Jr. and wife, Amy, of Hampton, and Joseph H. and Melanie Oliver, Elizabethton; one sister, Hazel Harrison, Roan Mountain; eight grandchildren, Scott Carden and his wife, Marlo, Eric Carden, Timmy Simerly and his wife, Mary, Becky Blevins and her husband, J.R. Blevins, Priscillia Pearce, Madison Stout, Andrew Oliver and Megan Oliver; five great-grandchildren: Keshia Pearce, Robert Allen Pearce, Travis Blevins, Donna Simerly, Kayla Simerly and Blake DeVall; several nieces and nephews including special Nieces, Martha Shook and Christien Shook. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. D.C. Byrd and Rev. Clarence Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Hyder Cemetery, Gap Creek. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Walter, Dr. Farrow and Dr. Cole.
