Street 03/25/99 Allen D. Street, 96, 443 Sally Cove Creek Road, Hampton, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Street was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Clingmon and Katie Gouge Street. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters Mr. Street was a retired construction worker. He attended the Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Cochran Street; two daughters, Virginia Cates and Pauline Whitehead, both of Hampton; and three sons, Paul Street, Elizabethton, Ronald Street, Roan Mountain, and Jerome Street, Hampton. Twelve grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. STREET -- Funeral services for Allen D. Street, 96, 443 Sally Cove Creek Road, Hampton, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Spivey Pendleton, Rev. L.D. Berry and Rev. Bernie Jones officiating. The Carr Family will provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Gouge-Simerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, will be Harold Chambers, Gary Simerly, Darrell Street, Jeff Trivette, Dennis Brooks, David Whitehead, Otis Whittemore and Wayne Whittemore. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Street, Donnie Chambers, Rev. Basil Stevens, George Collins, T. Chambers, Fate Whitehead, Albert Simerly, Roy Hyder, Albert Ellison, Bill Cochran, Wayne Cates, Patrick Hammell, Ken Brammell, Norman Simerly, D.C. Simerly, Ed Simerly, Harlan Simerly, Brooks Simerly, Nick Simerly, Bob Sneed, Randy Colbaugh, Gary Hopson, Wade Tolley, A.C. Cole, his special friend and caretaker Kim Miller, all employees of Superior Home Health Care and a special thanks to Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church and Hopson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and to all special people who have been a friend through the years. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
